Activities Under Career Counselling Cell

Activities of the cell were started with the interaction program with the students admitted in the first year by the Hon’ble Principal. The main activities implemented in this session are as follows -

1. Ghe Bharari:

On the occasion of Sakal Newspaper Group's Young Inspirer initiative, a program called "Ghe Bharari" was organized in the college. It was held on 23rd August 2019. Following resource persons interacted with the students -
Hon’ble Mr. Narendra Wankhade, Deputy Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Amravati interacted on the topic, "Personality traits required to become an administrative officer".
Hon’ble Mrs. Vaishali Pathre, Tehsildar, Amravati and alminus of the institution delivered igniting speech on "Inclusion of Women in Administrative Service".
Mr. Sagar Mhaske, Director, IAS Academy, Amravati guided the student with theme “The Key to Success in Competitive Examinations"

2. Amravati Start Up Business Plan Competition - 2019:

An activity to develop entrepreneurship awareness BSc and BCA final year students were guided in the special session on Thursday, 29th Aug. 2019.
Students were motivated to participate in Innovative Amravati Start-up Business Plan Competition.
In the motivational program , Hon’ble Dr. Sanjay Jagtap, Joint Director (HE), Amravati Division, Amravati and Hon’ble Mr. Dinesh Suryavanshi, Member of Management Council, Sant Gadgebaba Amravati University Amravati informed the students about the special efforts being made for entrepreneurship.

3. “Access to Employability”:

Through the initiative of Barclay's multinational company as well as National Skill Development Corporation, Govt. Expert Mentor Mrs. Pooja Thackeray guided students on "Access to Employability" on 15th September,2019.

4. Behavioral Training and Skill Development Program (BTSDP):

To polish the personality of the college students and equip them with the Best Skill Set dedicated Skill Development Course entitled Behavioral Training and Skill Development Program (BTSDP) was conducted during 16 to 23, Sept. 2019.
The course content was designed in the way to culture and nurture soft skills in the rigorous training programme. 78 students benefited from this workshop.
The workshop provided guidance on Personal Effectiveness, Goal Setting, Skills required for MNC Jobs, GDPI Techniques, Interview Technique, Soft Skills, Personality Analysis and Career opportunities.

5. General Intelligence Test:

The General Intelligence Test was conducted on 24th September 2019 which was useful for all the students.
The area tested were General knowledge, verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning, logical reasoning, and analytical thinking.
78 students registered and participated in the examination. The results of the exam were announced on the same day.

6. "Bolu Aise Bol" - Inspirational Lecture:

An inspiring lecture was organized on September 25, 2019 with the objective of making all BSc, BCA, BVoc and MSc students understand the importance of communication skills in their professional and general life.
Well-known TV anchor and Radio Jockey Ku. Anagha Modak, Mumbai had a heart to heart interaction with these students. Anagha, who built her own life with the fighting spirit and crossing many adversities, won the hearts of all the students with her mesmerizing and energetic voice.

7. Open book examination:

An innovative initiative called "Open Book Examination" was implemented among the new types of examinations. The most preferred book by all civil service aspirant “Lokasatta – Varshavedh 2018 was chosen for detailed study.
On Oct. 16, 2019 during 5.30 to 6.30 pm the Open Book Test was conducted. 34 students participated in the examination.
The exam consisted objective and descriptive type questions. The following students received merit awards in this competition:
First: Ku Sakshi Pawar and Badal Rathod, Second: Ku Shreya Khalokar and Third: Ku Shivani Chaudhary

8. Shivaji Yuvabhushan 2019: College level competition:

17 students of the college had participated in the Yuva Bhushan 2019 competition organized by Shri Shivaji Shikshan Sanstha Amravati. In this competition, which was held on 22nd December 2019, the following students from the college received prizes -
First Prize: Ku. Nikita Santosh Dange Second Prize: Ku. Shreya Khalokar 3rd Prize: Ms. Rituja Dev

9. Global Competencies Training Program:

Many important skills need to be developed in a student to make a great career nationally and globally. To inculcate those skills Career Counselling Cell working under college had launched the course entitled "Global Competencies Training Program." The course curriculum was designed to develop the quality of the skills required to prepare Global Citizens out of normal college going students.
This course was conducted from 5th to 15th February, 2020
UG students from BSc, BCA and BVoc as well as PG students enrolled for the course. The course was commenced with the Induction Talk by Dr. Deepak Vohra, Ambassador, Government of India. He delivered fantastic talk on "Global Mega Trends".
Overall, 116 students participated in the course. It was concluded with the Valedictory Function chaired by IQAC coordinator Dr. H. S. Lunge. While sharing the feedback on the complete course students highlighted the need of this course. It was also pointed out by students that; the course has transformed their perspective.
Students acknowledged the organizers and requested to conduct this course for longer duration with more attributes needed for the Global Competency. Certificates were distributed to all the participating students.

10. Awareness Workshop for PG Students:

Awareness Workshop for PG Students on MANAV, SWAYAM and CBCS was conducted on Tuesday, 21st January, 2020; 2.30 to 5.30 pm

Training and Project Awareness about Govt of India Initiative under a specialized project "MANAV" by Dr. Anupama Harshal, Team, MANAV, Consultant, Science Communication and Public Engagement, IISER, Pune
