Society for Technologically Advanced Materials of India (STAMI) has organized an International Web Conference on Science, Engineering and Technology (IWCSET-2020) recently on 15th & 16th May2020 in association with Shri. Shivaji Science College Amravati, Dr. Ambedkar College, Nagpur, Jhulelal Institute of Technology, Nagpur, Shri. Dnyanesh Mahavidyalaya, Nawargaon, (M.S.) Indian, Society for Technical Education (ISTE), Society for Green World and Sustainable Development, Jhansi, J. T. Mahajan College of Engineering, Jalgaon, Indian Association of Physics Teacher, Dr. Rajendra Ghode Institute of Technology & Research, Amravati, AI and Cognitive Science & Learning Academy and Cretile.
IWCSET-2020 an initiative towards scientific deliberation amid lockdown, quarantine and social distancing. This Web Conference was organized with the intention to provide a platform to propagate original research work of academicians, researchers and students on Science, Engineering & Technology. It encompasses deliberations in Physical, Chemical, Biological & Engineering Sciences and Technology.
The conference has 3476 registered delegates from across the globe, 40 invited speakers and more than 360 oral & poster presentations. The conference had 964 deliberations in Physical Sciences, 623 in Chemical Sciences,1125 in Biological Sciences and 764 deliberations in Engineering & Technology.
The conference was inaugurated on zoom platform and broadcasted live on YouTube. Dr. K. G. Rewatkar, Chairperson IWCSET2020 delivered the opening remark. He stated that STAMI had organized 15 national and international conferences in India, 6 off-shore International conferences and this was the First Web Conference and was a huge success from participation and deliberation point of view. The Principals and Management members of various associate colleges presented brief introduction of their college and expressed their pleasure on this association. The foremost amongst them were Dr. V. G. Thakare, Principal, Shri Shivaji Science College Amravati, Dr Suresh Bakare, Principal Shri Dyanesh Mahavidyalaya, Nawargaon, Dr. Narendra Bawane, Principal, Jhulelal Institute of Technology, Dr. Pramod Patil,
Principal, Dr. Rajendra Ghode Institute of Technology & Research, Amravati, Dr. R. D. Patil, J T Mahajan College of Engineering, Jalgaon & Dr. H. D. Bhartiya Jhashi.
Dr. Debashish Bhowmick, Convener-IWCSET2020 introduced Dr. Pratap Desai, President, Indian Society of Technical Education(ISTE), and the Chief-Guest of inaugural function. He addressed the gathering saying that in this pandemic situation where the whole world is at stand still, it is for Science and Technology to join hands for a sustainable future ahead. He further said that Science & Technology are complimentary to each other and cannot grow in isolation. He emphasized that now-a-days it is the time to revive ancient Indian concept of Vasu dev Kutumbakam, where the whole world is one village without any geographical barrier.
In two days deliberations four technical sessions dedicated to each faculty were conducted. Key note address was delivered by President of STAMI Dr. R. P. Tandon, live from New York, USA.
On Day 1, 15th May 2020, two parallel sessions on Chemical and Physical sciences were broadcasted from 11:00 am to 3:oo pm.
Technical Session-1 dedicated to Chemical Sciences was coordinated and conducted by Dr Dhanashri Borikar and Mohan Borikar where in invited speakers Prof. Cyril Bressey, France, Dr Vishal Bharti Portughal, Dr Nitin Labhsetwar, Chief Scientist and Head ERM division NEERI, Dr Dinesh Rangappa, Banglore, Prof S J Dhoble, Dr. Ravin Jugade ,India shared their views in the webinar. More than 900 delegates registered from all over the country in chemistry and physics.
Technical Session-1I, dedicated to Physical sciences was conducted by Dr K G Rewatkar, Dr Ajay Lad and Dr N S Meshram. Invited speakers Prof Jinhua Hao, Hongkong, Dr Nanda Gunawardhana, Dr. Sujit Christy, Sri Lanka, Dr Vishal Sharma USA, prof R Jotania and Prof Pius Augustin,India deliverd lectures in the Web Conference.
On Day 2, 16th May 2020, two parallel technical sessions on Biological and Engineering sciences were broadcasted from 11: 00 am. to 4: 00 pm.
Technical session I- dedicated to Biological science was conducted by Dr Suresh DVNS and Dr. Mrs. Vasanti K Rewatkar Organizing Secretory, IWCSET-2020 .
Invited speakers were Dr.
Nishikant Wase, USA, Dr. Raymond Andrew, Singapoore, Dr. Rajkumar Gupta, Miss. Megha Agarwal, Prof. Mukund Sherkar from India delivered Invited talk.
Technical Session-1I, dedicated to Engineering and technology, Dr K G Rewatkar and Dr D Bhoumik conducted the Engineering and technology session. Invited speakers Prof Ajit Khosla, Japan, Prof K K. Bamzi, Dr. Ajit Mahapatra, Dr. Sanjeev Sharma Engg..Parag Gulhane, Banglore delivered their lectures.
During all the technical sessions after the invited talks, pre recorded oral and poster presentations scrutinised by the jury were broadcasted on YouTube. Overwhelming repose was received by the participants from India and abroad for the Web Conference. All the technical support was provided by Dr. Indrani Das Sharma and Dr. Nishit Jain. Dr. Lalit Ujede, and Mr. Hemant Meshram , Assistant Professors, Shri. Dnyanesh Mahavidyalaya, Nawargaon worked as Executive Members in this IWCSET2020.
In the valedictory program of IWCSET-2020, at 4:30 pm, Chairman Dr K G Rewatkar and Convenor Dr D Bhowmick extended their heartfelt gratitude towards all the associate institutes and the invited speakers, coordinators of science and Engineering faculties and the delegate participants from all over the country.
