Objectives:
- To bring out the creative expression of students and to gauge their knowledge and enhance their awareness about Air and water pollution ,causes and solutions.
- To motivate students to think about the different types of pollutions , causes and solutions.
- To aware the students to think about the impact of different types of pollutions on our environment and our duties towards the healthy atmosphere.
- To identify the beneficiary group of students for competition (undergraduate/ post graduate students)
- To provide proper platform for displaying the poster and presentation.

Activity Report:
Intra-collegiate Poster competition for B.Sc. II and B.Sc. III year students (2024-25) was organized by Department of Chemistry on Wednesday 14th August 2024 under the guidance of Dr. G.V. Korpe , Principal, Shri Shivaji Science College , Amravati, Dr. A.S. Burghate , Head , Department of Chemistry, Dr. D.D. Khedkar, Coordinator , DBT star Project , Dr. P.R. Mandlik, P.G. Coordinator, Dr, N.A. Kalambe, Dr. V.B. Khobragade were the organizing Committee members. All the respected faculty members of Department of chemistry were present for this programme. Dr. K.J. Gawai, Professor, Department of Environmental Science and Mr. V.D. Bute, Asst. Professor were the judges for this competition. Dr. A.S. Burghate, Head, Department of Chemistry, had guided the students about the Air and Water Pollution which is a serious issues that can be defined as the introduction of harmful substances or pollutants , into the environment . Dr. D.D. Khedkar, Co-ordinator DBT Star Project had given the introduction of DBT scheme by Department of BioTechnology , Govt. of India . He introduced the students about benefits of DBT activity. Dr. K.J.Gawai had declared the result and appreciated the participants for their handmade poster and good presentation. Mr. V.D. Bute had guided the students about the impact of different pollution causing our environment and our duties towards the healthy atmosphere. He further added that pollution can damage the quality of quality of air, water and soil, which can disturb the balance of ecosystem and impact our lifestyle. Dr. V.B. Khobragade had conducted the programme and Dr.N.A. Kalambe had proposed vote of thanks . Winner of Poster Competition 1st rank - Ms. Rucha Gothakade B.Sc. II (MBZ) 2nd Rank Ms Kiran Ghurde B.Sc. II(CEZ), 3rd Ms Tanisha Tayade B.Sc. III (BTZ).
Outcomes:
- Students have motivated to enhance the knowledge to present the causes of air and water pollution in pictorial manner.
- Students have understand the different types of pollutions , its causes and solutions.
- Students learnt the different causes of pollution which can disturb the balance of ecosystem and its impact on mankind.
- Students have understand our duties to minimize the pollution and different measures to healthy environment.
- Awareness is developed in the students about the leading causes of diseases and premature death due to the impact of pollution on humans.
