- 2. To familiarize students with recruitment procedures in environmental consultancy industries.
- 3. To guide students regarding professional skills, aptitude tests, and interview techniques.
- 4. To strengthen industry–academia interaction.
- 5. To encourage students to explore careers in environmental management, sustainability, and consultancy services.

Activity Report:
Department of Environmental Science organized a Placement Drive for U.G. and P.G. students. It was conducted on 24 Feb.2026 at 2.00 p.m. in UG Lab of Department of Environmental Science. The objectives of Placement Drive is to provide employment opportunities , industry exposure to the students and to prepare students for future placements by acquainting them with the important parameters considered during interviews. The placement drive was conducted in collaboration with Core Project Engineers & Consultant Pvt. Ltd., a reputed organization working in the field of environmental Science. To convey about Placement Drive, flyer was circulated among what’s app groups of B.Sc.III & M.Sc.II students before 4-5 days of placement drive. On the day of placement drive, initially Pre-Placement Orientation Session was conducted for students. Experts from Core Project Engineers & Consultant Pvt. Ltd., namely Ms. Akshada Bhandarde, Environmental Engineer; Ms. Shivani Deshmukh, Scientific Officer; and Mr. Anup Nagpurkar, Senior Manager, conducted the session.
In this session, they guided students regarding:
• Career opportunities in environmental consultancy
• Importance of technical and analytical skills
• Role of environmental professionals in industries
• Need for continuous learning and certification courses
• Various stages of the placement process including aptitude tests, group discussions, and interviews.
• Interview etiquette, workplace expectations etc.
After the Pre-Placement Orientation Session , the placement drive commenced with a formal inaugural session. Dr. S. P. Ingole, Head of the Department of Environmental Science, felicitated Ms. Akshada Bhandarde and Ms. Shivani Deshmukh with flowers and addressed the students on the significance of career opportunities in the environmental sector.
After inaugural session introductory session was conducted . During this session, Ms. Akshada Bhandarde and Ms. Shivani Deshmukh informed students about the company profile, eligibility criteria, job roles, salary structure, work responsibilities, and growth opportunities. They also explained the recruitment procedure in detail viz. Registration process, Screening of resumes, Aptitude test, Technical interview & final interview by Senior manager & Director.
Interested students registered for the placement drive and submitted their resumes. Students from both U.G. and P.G. Environmental Science subject actively participated in the process.
Students were assessed on their subject knowledge, practical skills, , understanding of environmental issues and their dissertation project.
In the final interview by Senior manager & Director, 2 candidates were selected based on communication skills, confidence, teamwork, adaptability, leadership qualities, professional attitude and their overall response.
Outcomes:
- 1. Students gained exposure to real recruitment procedures.
- 2. Improved confidence and interview skills.
- 3. Students understood the practical applications of environmental science in consultancy services.
- 4. The programme motivated students to improve technical competencies and professional communication skills.
- 5. 2 students from P.G. Environmental Science secured job offers.
