Objectives:
- 1. To bring out the creative expression of students, to gauge their knowledge and enhance their awareness about Air and water pollution
- causes and solution.
- 2. To motivate students to think about the different types of pollutions , causes and solutions.
- 3. To aware the students about the impact of different pollution causing our environment and our duties towards the healthy atmosphere .
- 4. To identify the beneficiary group of students for competition (under graduate/post graduate students)
- 5. To provide proper platform for displaying the posters and presentation.

Activity Report:
Intra-collegiate Poster Competition for B.Sc. I , II ,III Students (2025-26) was organized by Department of Chemistry on Friday 3rd October 2025 under the guidance of Dr. G.V. Korpe, Principal, Shri. Shivaji Science College, Amravati, Dr.P.R. Mandlik, Head, Department of Chemistry, Dr. D.D. Khedkar ,Coordinator , DBT Star Project , Dr. N.A. Kalambe , Dr. V. B. Khobragade organizing Committee member. All the Respected faculty members of Department of Chemistry were present for this programme. Dr. Shrikant R. Warhekar, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Environmental Science , Smt. Narsamma Art’s Commerce and Science College, Kiran Nagar, Amravati was the Guest Speaker and judge for this competition. Dr. Shrikant R. Warhekar guided our students about the impact of Air and water pollution. His insightful lecture provided a depth understanding of the subject enriching the knowledge of all participants. Dr. V.D. Bute , Assistant Professor, Department of Environment Science, Shri. Shivaji Science College, Amravati also worked as the Judge for this competition. Dr. P.R. Mandlik, Head, Department of Chemistry, had guided students about the Air and Water Pollution which is a serious issue that can be defined as the introduction of harmful substances or pollutants into the environment . Dr. D.D. Khedkar , Coordinator , DBT Star Project had given the introduction of DBT scheme by Department of Bio Technology, Govt. of India. He introduced the students about benefits of DBT activity. Dr. Shrikant R. Warhekar had declared the result and appreciated the participants for their handmade poster and good presentation. Mr. V. D. Bute had guided the students about the impact of different pollution causing our environment and our duties towards the healthy atmosphere . He further added that pollution can damage the quality of air, water and soil , which can disturb the balance of the ecosystem and impact our lifestyle.
From this competition two best posters are identified from each class i.e. Six best posters are selected for the further outreach activity at school. We got the permission from the Principal of Shantiniketan International School and Sharada Highschool & Juniour College, Shikshak Colony, Amravati for presenting the Poster to the school students. All students very nicely presented their poster in the school.
Dr. N.A. Kalambe and Dr.V. B. Khobragade had accompanied the participants in the school.
Winner of the Poster Competition are
Ms. Arpha Pathan, Ms. Kalyani Rathod B.Sc. III (Bio).
Ms. Ishwari Sable, Ms. Bipash Biswas B.Sc. II (B+ MEB).
Ms. Gun Daryani , Mr. Yash Ingle B.Sc. I (B+ MEB).
Outcomes:
- 1. Students have motivated to enhance the knowledge to present the causes of air and water pollution in pictorial manner.
- 2. Students have understand the different types of pollution , its causes and solutions
- 3. Students learnt the different causes of pollution , which can disturb the balance of ecosystem and its impact on mankind.
- 4. Students have understood our duties to minimize the pollutions and different measures to the healthy environment
- 5. Awareness is developed in the students about the leading causes of diseases and premature death due to the wast impact of pollution on humans.
