Activity Report:
The environment includes all living and non-living components surrounding us, such as air, water, soil, plants, animals, and human beings. It provides the essential resources required for life and maintains ecological balance. However, increasing industrialization, urbanization, deforestation, pollution, and excessive use of natural resources have caused serious environmental problems. Issues such as global warming, water scarcity, biodiversity loss, and waste accumulation have become major concerns in modern society.
Environmental education is one of the most effective ways to address these challenges. By creating awareness among young students, society can develop responsible citizens who understand the importance of nature conservation. School-level environmental awareness programs are especially valuable because children can adopt eco-friendly habits early in life and influence their families and communities positively.
Creative activities such as drawing competitions are highly effective in environmental education. Through drawing, students can express their understanding, imagination, and concern for nature in an enjoyable way. Art-based learning helps children remember messages better and makes awareness activities more attractive.
With this purpose, a B.Sc. III student from the Department of Environmental Science, Shri Shivaji Science College, Amravati organized an outreach activity at Nootan Kanya School, Amravati. The activity focused on promoting environmental awareness through a drawing competition and interactive discussion. Students enthusiastically participated and expressed their environmental ideas through art.
