Activity Report:
The environment includes everything that surrounds living organisms and influences life on Earth. It consists of air, water, soil, plants, animals, and human beings. A healthy environment provides the essential resources required for survival such as oxygen, food, shelter, and clean water. It also regulates climate, supports biodiversity, and maintains ecological balance. However, in recent years, environmental degradation has increased rapidly due to industrialization, urbanization, deforestation, pollution, and excessive exploitation of natural resources.
Problems such as climate change, water scarcity, plastic pollution, and biodiversity loss have become serious global concerns. These challenges can be addressed effectively only through awareness, education, and responsible behavior. Environmental education plays a key role in shaping attitudes and encouraging sustainable habits among citizens.
School students are the future guardians of the environment. Therefore, spreading environmental values among children is essential. Interactive programs conducted in schools help students understand ecological issues in a practical and enjoyable way. Activities such as quizzes, games, creative tasks, and discussions make learning meaningful and memorable.
With this purpose, a B.Sc. III student from the Department of Environmental Science, Shri Shivaji Science College, Amravati organized an outreach activity at Z.P Urdu Middle School, Nandgaon Peth. The session focused on environmental awareness through a quiz competition, creative thumbprint tree activity, prize distribution, and promotion of eco-friendly practices.
