Guest lecture for farmers, teachers and students (2024-25) was organized by Department of Chemistry on the topic of “To increase Awareness among farmers for the importance of soil analysis to check Micronutrient status of soil” on Sunday 8th December 2024 at Vitthal Rukhmini Mandir Adgaon, under the guidance of Dr. G.V. Korpe, Principal, Shri Shivaji Science College, Amravati, Dr. P.R. Mandlik, Head, Department of Chemistry, Dr. D.D. Khedkar, Coordinator, DBT Star Project. Dr. N. R. Thakare and Dr. N. H. Bansod, Convener. Mr. Milind Malve worked for the success of this program.
For this program Dr. S.N. Gawande, Head, Department of Soil Science, Shri Shivaji College of Agriculture, Amravati was Speaker to guide the farmers on this occasion.
The faculty members, farmers and students were present for this programme. Shri Babuji Parimal, Senior Farmer, was the chairman of this program and Shri Milind Patangrai gram panchayat member was present as a chief guest. Also, Arun Parimal, Nilesh Parimal, Sachin Tekarwade and Kisanrao Gaigole were present for the program. Total 48 participants were present for this guest lecture.
Dr. S.N. Gawande, in his speech put forward the importance of soil analysis to increase the per hectare yield. He also interacts with the farmers and try to know about the practices adopted by them to increase the yield and their information about the soil analysis and micronutrients present in the soil. He also explained some very easy method to increase the micronutrients in the soil.
Dr. S. N. Gawande appeal all the farmers present for the program to use Shen khat (Cow Dung) in their agriculture fields to increase the fertility of soil.
