One-Day Workshop on Chemistry Curriculum: Transformation Under NEP 2020
The one-day workshop on "Chemistry Curriculum: Transformation Under NEP 2020," organized by the Department of Chemistry at Shri Shivaji Science College, Amravati, on August 17, 2024, was a significant event focusing on the academic changes under NEP 2020. It featured several expert talks and discussions that provided a deep dive into the transformative aspects of the chemistry curriculum, offering participants insights into adapting to the new educational framework. It successfully brought together educators and faculty members from various institutions to share knowledge and strategies.
The workshop brought together 70 participants from various colleges, highlighting the collaborative efforts between the Department of Chemistry at Shri Shivaji Science College, UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (SGBAU), and the Amravati University Chemistry Teachers' Association (AUCTA). During the inaugural function, insightful speeches were delivered by key figures like Dr. G.V. Korpe, Dr. N.S. Thakare and Dr. M. Atique set the stage for engaging discussions on the challenges and transformations under NEP 2020. The event was well-coordinated and left a substantial impact on all participants.
Dr. M. Atique encouraged participants to embrace the changes brought by new education policies with open minds, while Dr. N.S. Thakare guided the new chemistry curriculum. Dr. A.S. Burghate delivered the introductory speech, setting the tone for the workshop. Dr. A.B. Bodade smoothly coordinated the event, with Dr. P.R. Mandlik delivering the Vote of Thanks, bringing the inaugural ceremony to a close.
After the Inauguration, the keynote speaker, Dr. D. D. Khedkar, Head of the Department of Botany, addressed the session about the benefits and perspective of NEP.
Dr. N.H. Bansod coordinated this session, and Dr. S.A. Wadhal conveyed the vote of thanks.
In session 2, Dr. Vijay Masand, Professor, VBMV, Amravati, delivered his talk on “Chemistry UG curriculum: Transformation under NEP 2020. Dr. N.S. Thakare chaired the session. Coordinated by Dr. Y. S. Thakare, and Vote of Thanks by Dr. N. R. Thakare.
In Session 3 of the workshop, Dr. M.M. Kodape delivered an insightful lecture on the "Chemistry PG Curriculum: Transformation under NEP 2020," which the participants received well. The session was smoothly chaired by Dr. K.N. Puri and coordinated by Dr. R.D. Bankar. It concluded with a Vote of Thanks from Dr. P. R. Padole, marking another valuable contribution to the event.
The workshop ended positively, with certificates distributed to the participants after the Hi-Tea.
The smooth registration process, coordinated by Dr. N.A. Kalambe and the event management by Dr. V.B. Khobragade, Dr. A. M. Mopari, and Ms. K.V. Kumbhalkar, along with the supportive efforts of the non-teaching staff, ensured the program's success.
